The first written mention of Baka dates from 1264.
In ancient history, it was a settlement of royal courtiers.
According to the 2001 census, 92.50% of the population is of Hungarian nationality.
In the village there is the Roman Catholic Church of All Saints, a single-nave baroque building with a polygonal end of the presbytery and a presbytery tower, from 1762.
